“Thank you for this essay (What is British Art? A cross–cultural conference at Tate Britain), it is very poignant and needed. Such discussions continue to hover in some spherical existence around the bubble of contemporary Westernized art, much like the rings of Saturn (a visual for the visionary’s sake).
You have picked on a good source, that of Rasheed, he is a smart brother and proves the adage many in subbasement creative communities have known for long periods, that to pierce the center globe of which we see clearer then those who are in it, you need to be a master of many disciplines, for only then will you be heard (and even then it’s on a leashed format; Rasheed is still not ‘free’).

Great site you have set up... wonderful in goal. Much respect!”

Antonio Veiga Rocha, artist/ writer, Rhode Island/ London/ Cabo Verde

“Something to belong to without having to be bogged down with unnecessary bullshit. Something genuine, and in the art world? You can't beat that.”

Larry Achiampong, artist, London

“Thank you for doing this great project. It is really important and amazing and it gives me a sense of belonging.”

Onur Suzan Kömürcü, PHD candidate, Goldsmiths College, London

“Check out FemAdLib Kolektiv: a space for explicit political feminist art...and a challenge to all sexist, heteronormative art/artists/collectors/curators out there.”
